Details

The Anusara Yoga Immersion program is a 3-part, 100-hour curriculum designed to empower you in your yoga practice. In each immersion, we will explore the philosophy and principles of Anusara Yoga with focused study and playful practice. It is an opportunity for engaging in the conversation of yoga in great company. Completion of all three parts of the immersion program is a prerequisite for entering any Anusara Yoga Teacher Training.

Part 1: Awakening the Heart
The first step of deepening your engagement in yoga is simply to bring yourself with an open heart. In Part 1 of the immersion we will begin that wondrous descent into the heart, beginning with the foundations of Anusara Yoga. We will cover the Universal Principles of Alignment and put them into a deepening practice. And we will look at the underlying assumptions of the life-affirming Tantric vision that informs the practice of Anusara Yoga, while also learning about the other main currents of yoga philosophy.

Part 2: Expanding into More
In Part 2, we’ll read a seminal yoga text, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra, which offers some of the earliest insights into a practice of yoga. We will explore interpretations of the Yoga Sutras from the perspectives of Classical Yoga and the Tantra, with an eye toward making the text applicable to our yoga and our everyday lives. In our practice of yoga on the mat, we will continue to unpack the Universal Principles of Alignment as we move into more advanced asana. As you make them your own, these principles will serve you and expand the possibilities to more.

Part 3: Song of the Soul
In Part 3, we dive into the Bhagavad Gita, a treasure-house of yogic wisdom that is the song of the yogic heart. It takes yoga along the paths of action, understanding, and devotion toward a practice of deep integration of ourselves. As we play deeper in our yoga on the mat, the practice becomes one of celebration of your own truest self.

Investment $1875 by 1/15, $2075 after.  OR each part $750 ($700 earlybird if paid in full within 2 weeks of start date). Payment plans available.
